Not familiar with the Windows version, but the Mac version was actually good and useful, albeit only because there was no native virtual memory management.
@macmanx I can imagine... there's both the added burden on the OS and hardware for shifting data (compressing/decompressing on the fly) between silicon RAM and virtual memory (a.k.a. your hard drive), and RamDoubler not necessarily knowing what of your game's data should not be whisked off to that hard drive.
