@MackReed I'm from Massachusetts. "Wooster" and "Worcester" are not pronounced the same way. I've been away for long enough to have lost the nuance, but trust me, if you're a local talking to another local there's no confusion.

Text is so inadequate to convey pronunciation, but something like:

or if we try to honor the Boston accent:

@MackReed @ardgedee non-native MA Yankee here. The key to MA town names comes from a Monty Python sketch about a man's name:
"No, no, no - it's spelt 'Raymond Luxury Yach-t', but it's pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'."
