[heart] for the title. This poor kid.

It's literally illegal for a 14-year-old to work more than 8 hours a day (or after 9:00 at night).

I hope this kid realizes his childhood was stolen from him
0y3ahSansAcut3 4 years ago
This has to be his stepchild. The kid looks mangled.

After I had a paper route for awhile my dad was like "you know what, this is fucked". That was back in the day when you had to collect house to house and they expected your teenage ass to cover the cost of papers when people didn't pay.

@dad Yeah, but it paid for my Schwinn ten speed!

I got a job at 15 because I wanted money that was mine and I didn't have to be dependent on the generosity of my parents for "going to the movies" kind of money. I was not forced. I wanted independence.
me3dia pro 4 years ago
Yeah, I got a job as soon as I could. The kid is probably fine (as anyone can be). The dad is an asshole for treating it as an opportunity to brag.
travis pro 4 years ago
While it is likely illegal, I had a friend at 14 that was clocking in 40 - 80 hour weeks at minimum wage.
travis pro 4 years ago
@dad yeah all for what like $15 a week? that was my first job as well.

Found this dude's Facebook page to confirm this was legit. He is a real piece of shit.

I totally support teens getting jobs, but hours should be limited.
danelectro pro 4 years ago
my dad skipped this and simply made me work for him when i was 14 which worked out exactly how you think it did
jessamyn pro 4 years ago
This seems like maybe the dad is bragging about a kid who is literally hiding from him.
