Here's the thing, @roonie - The majority of Americans are *for* some modicum of gun control, and most of the congresspeople are too, but they all live in FEAR (I might get my donations docked, or lose my next election) of What the Fucking Gun Nuts Will Do if they bother to take it to debate. The NRA has lost a lot of pull and donations in the wake of recent scandals, but their base (thanks, Fox News, Donald Trump and the entire gutless GOP delegation) think the world hates them and is against everything they live for, and those people are completely out of fucks.

And you have confirmed what I thought about the wider subject, "Guns and the USA". What I have thought for quite some time and what I think is only going downhill because politicians are mostly interested in, and working hard for, re-election. Self-interest.
