Is the proprietor of Almázygo home to the cat I posted earlier and also a restaurant and cafe that has become my favorite spot in Tarapoto. This photo was taken last week when I stopped in for lunch. She and Arnaud were an item and used to own a different place together. He got tired of the grind, they split up and he dove into the medicine and helping others and she opened this place and runs it on her own.
There are three rooms to let and often the soldiers that spend time with Alberto come here to stay and for post-dieta meals. She has an entire menu based around the restrictions so it's easy to get good, well-made food that fits within the post-dieta framework.
She's also, quite simply, a wonderful person.
I stopped by today to meet Tristan as he's staying here till Tues and then off back to the real world. She makes a barley coffee that tastes near enough the real thing, sans caffeine, to quiet that monkey. I also had another sumptuous meal in her loving care.
If you find yourself in Tarapoto be sure and stop by Almázygo!
It occurred to me today that I haven't eaten any meat for two weeks, nor had any coffee or caffeine of any kind and I haven't consumed any cannabis, save the one joint with the Doc, in a month. Longest I've gone without pot in 15 years.
