Curling
Was legitimately looking up curling intro classes last night. Have a couple of friends that also seem interested and the local place finally got some afternoon availability which makes transit a bit more reasonable, so, perhaps giving it a go in February.
Here in Chicago we have a rooftop curling bar https://www.thegwenchicago.com/activiti... and a lakefront curling rink (with heated igloo) https://www.harrycarays.com/curling-...
There’s a shocking number of curling clubs in the US! We just found one in Portland OR last I was there, and I’ve been to the Seattle one multiple times.
What an amazing sport. And yeah, it’s a hell of a workout!

There are 2 clubs in town now and a brewery about 45min away has an outdoor sheet in the winter for use. I need to look into playing again

In the 2002 Winter Olympics in SLC we were only able to get tickets to one event, and it was curling. It was a lot more entertaining than expected.
I had a friend in college, in Central MA, who was from either Canada or very near the border on the US side who was a huge curling enthusiast and very much missed it, and was ALL OVER a SNES or N64 winter Olympics cartridge that included a curling event, and I always appreciated that.
