new sound machine
Respect, that's a fair amount of soldering and assembly. Winter electronic projects FTW
i've never used the dm-2w (or the original dm-2, for that matter) but i am a sucker for the sound of a bucket brigade type delay. i've had a few on my board over the years and they are always a delight to play with. great use of control voltage input there too
I know very little about soldering and assembly but based on what this does, I think it would be worth my time to invest in a basic kit to learn how and work my way up to here.
@nikkuneko this particular patch makes the most delightful burbling sound as the delay times spike and retreat. The dm-2w is a little hard to control but that's kind of what I like about it!
@d09m4t1c if you can put together a simple pedal kit or similar you can tackle this - it's just a lot more soldering. I completed this over a few days, working for an hour or two each time. This particular kit has all the passive and ic components pre-soldered on at the pcb fabricator - "all" you need to solder on are the jacks, pots, leds, switches, buttons. Tom (the designer) has a delightfully deadpan video of him building one in real time if you want a taste of what it takes: https://youtu.be/M3mMAsjv...
Nice, been eyeing those...
@niicholas I will attempt to build some basics, maybe learn enough to fix my old line 6 delay and hope kits will be available when I’ve got the hang of things :)
