LMJS as a 30-year expat Angeleno who covered the start of the L.A. uprising in 1992, while I don't condone throwing shit at the cops because it gives them all the excuse they crave to brutalize innocent bystanders, I understand this gesture.

Repeated, amplified and unified civil disobedience is how we'll beat the fascist coup in the long run.

And clashes like this are what will sway people both to and away from the cause of reclaiming our democracy from the fucking nazis in the White House.

Given it's cops that typically instigate the situation, I'm fine with people throwing shit at cops. They're gonna brutalize the bystandards with or without excused.

If what you’re throwing is the tear gas canister the cops launched at you, I’m gonna say you’re in the clear

I mean, I watched a video of a cop (I think actually an ICE goon rather than a cop) deliberately take aim at an Australian reporter while she was on the air, then shoot her with a rubber bullet.
