@jordanbrock some of those are paths connected to stree bike lanes. Some of them are stupid dead ends.

A way back in the day rode from Sierra Madre to Long Beach and back via the path along the San Gabriel River/605 Freeway. Brutal. Mostly flat, but concrete and asphalt all around and fully exposed.
