today's theme song
@ardgedee I bought into the whole catalogue at Zen Arcade after reading about it in the Village Voice, and they went on to became the soundtrack for my angst-ridden 20s - non-stop on the car stereo at top volume.
@MackReed Weirdly enough "Zen Arcade" is their only album that I bounced off of. I don't hate it, I just wasn't able to get into it. Even "Land Speed Record" gets more plays.
I love this song so much. It feels like the perfect, absurdist response to every dumb, boring, conservative question.
And it's also a perfect intro to other songs, plus I feel like I could say much more but my brain is fuddled.
@MackReed make sure to check out Numero's rarities and releases of their stuff (even if it's only in digital form now - https://numerogroup.com/products...)
The Grant Hart tracks here really stand out, the band hadn't quite become "Bob Mould's Hüsker Dü" yet.
