A couple years back, put a crockery cylinder on the counter where The Long Things go. The masher and the lemon squeezer are still troublemakers in the drawer.
We have 4-ish... one for truly awkward instruments like ladles, scoops, serving forks, etc., one for spatulas of various kinds and shapes, one for whisks, and a tall coffee mug for holding chopsticks. And two knife blocks.

It's kind of ridiculous, but that's what happens when (a) I like silicone spatulas and (b) we cook a variety of European and East Asian cuisines and after a while decide it's less frustrating to, for example, get a set of wok tools rather than make do with the pancake turner.
