A mechanic I once employed stole my wheel well liners to put on a deeper pocket's van. I didn't even know they existed until reading a thread on The Samba. Yes, rust is bad. I need to sand, and bondo, and I got a line on some new wheel well liners which fit. I have to go backk to work to do repairs.
