old habits

A hall that may or may not be empty and unlit. The initial appearance is abandoned: a bare, dismal plaster wall with a hole where an electrical outlet once was and a fading rectangle where a picture once hung. Also on the wall is a large arched window, revealing a deep indigo night sky. A pipe hangs from the ceiling, while the floor is covered by a dull reddish-orange carpet.
