a very old decorate middle eastern plate. Amongst fancy vegetal decoration is drawn a blue lion, clearly by someone who has never seen a lion before. Its mane is a sparse comb-over, its tail is long and spirals, it has a curious wasp waist. It has a very sweet wee face with red outlined eyes and a tiny mouth.

not its official title, but a fine plate in the Bellerive room of the Aga Khan museum. This is our favourite badly-drawn lion. We always make a bee-line for it when we go to the museum. It has such a sweet wee face.
