A boy and his cat

Æthelred started hunting and attacking Horatio, which broke our hearts and led to a string of vet visits to see if someone was sick. Horatio was fine but Æthelred had problems with his teeth and ended up having *9* removed. Our household was also disrupted by keeping the boys separated for weeks while all this played out. Around Christmas my sister said she could “foster” him - huzzah! We brought him up on New Year’s Eve, and at first he was pretty skeptical of my younger nephew (not pictured). However, everyone in the household (5 people) is very excited to have him, and he’s settled in nicely. He even caught a mouse! I miss him painfully, but even I can see he traded up.

Aw, that’s hard. Nice to think of him feeling happier though. ❤️

That’s a tough transition, glad it’s working out

@snowbow my sister asked me if he would catch a mouse because her husband “thinks we have one.” I pointed out that (a) there’s no such thing as “have one,” and (b) I’m pretty sure he’d be thrilled out of his little kitty mind to catch any available mice. So I’m pretty sure “happier” is a serious undersell. 😹
