And s(n)o(w) it begins!

On the left, a small tree engulfed by a big green covering is next to a path swept clear through the snow in my front yard.
In the panel on the top right, a gratuitous self-portrait I took of me wearing a leather hat with rabbit fur & earflaps,
In the bottom right, outdoor clothing sits in a bathtub after getting snowy playing in it outside.

How long has it been since I lived up north? Well the only shovel I own is a garden spade, so I SWEPT my stoop and a path through the yard. Hoping the covering I’ve done will protect our two little dogwoods and our li’l rosemary bush.
Got on my play-in-the-snow-with-the-kiddo gear, and between the vaguely retro glasses, the greying beard in need of a trim and the ushanka, I glanced in the mirror and thought “oh! Hi Dad!”
I’m also loving the aftermath reminiscent of my childhood, with the snowy coats and hats and snow pants, etc., plopped into the tub.
Trying to enjoy the chance to play in the snow with m’boy instead of dreading the coming ice storm (I don’t like THIS kind of ice, either). Have everything charged and lanterns and blankets and etc., in case we lose power, but hoping we’ll be lucky enough to avoid that outcome. If you live southwest of me, please be careful, make sure you know where the nearest warming shelter is/will be in case of really serious outages, and sending safe wintery love to all y’all MLTSHPers.
