DuckDuckGo recently added a "No AI" version of their search engine, with all the embedded AI functionality stripped out.

Info about noai.duckduckgo: https://duckduckgo.com/duckduck...

Unfortunately in Firefox you can't modify the embedded search engine options, but you can add new ones and make your addition the default. Note that this only affects search queries made from the address bar shortcut: It does not affect search engine behavior if you go directly to duckduckgo.com or another site.

1: Go to Firefox Preferences ("Preferences" from the application menu, or about:preferences in the browser window) and click the "Search" preferences tab. Scroll down to the "Search Shortcuts" area and add a new shortcut by clicking "Add"

2: For "Search engine name", add whatever label works for you. I've put in "DDG no ai". The keyword is optional but I'm using "@noai". The URL you want to use is https://noai.duckduckgo.com/... (MLTSHP auto-truncates displayed URLs: make sure you copy the full URL within the link.)

Advanced options aren't necessary, but if you have search suggestions enabled this allows you to request those suggestions from noai.duckduckgo.

3. Select your newly added shortcut from the "Default search engine" menu.
