samosa larger than a small tractor
I've heard tell of a truckstop in Minnesota frequented by South Asian truck drivers that has amazing food, but I haven't verified the stories yet...
@ardgedee gas station sushi sounds like russian roulette
@ba I remember hearing of a similar place near Phoenix, AZ. Phoenix has had a Sikh community for over a century.

@scruss That's the angle, really. You're set up to expect frozen sushi from a factory in New Jersey or something and you get served a decently good meal. Not "food of my homeland by the sea" good but you'll enjoy it and you won't die.
Anyway, damn I could kill a good samosa or two right now. It's been a while since I've had the opportunity.
Gas stations with southern cooking and soul food hot bars are very much a thing hereabouts, it's one of the main ways to get fried chicken or pork chops once you're outside the cities, but the gas station sushi shop is still unique as far as I can tell. I haven't tried it yet but want to, it's not in a convenient place for us to get to. They sell teeshirts and other swag because of course they're leveraging the fact that people want to show off to their friends about the time they had gas station sushi.
