I'll have to try leaving mine longer and not pressing the screen all the way down. I always end up with sludge in the cup.

@bencmeissner oh nice! it's always so cool to have a local connection like that. i have definitely used some of the peace coffee guides in the past, so feel free to send my kudos!

and i was genuinely surprised at how well this method prevented the silt and sludge. i missed the satisfaction of the full plunge (STILL have the urge to do it every time) but that settling time does wonders (sometimes i do more than 5 minutes, even)
