A portal to somewhere ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A selection from today's shoot. My groupmate brought this really cool acrylic sheet with some sort of translucent iridescent sticker on it. One of our concepts for this project is defining the sea as a portal that folks use to escape. She got some other really cool shots and we're going to keep playing with the concept, including hanging the sheet as a frame to shoot through. Her examples having our 3rd groupmate holding it up are really striking.

I was playing with it while they talked to some subjects and I shot this weird reflection/window overlay double exposure vibe. I really like how it shows the two sides of the coast between water and beach infrastructure.

Sony A7iii, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 at 36mm, f11, iso 100. The trick was focussing on the area behind the screen and then locking to manual focus which gets matched in the reflection. I then lined up the reflection of the horizon of the sea with a breakwater jutting out into said sea behind the screen.
