On Tiger bread (AKA Dutch crunch)

As the butter is still not spreading at the current temperature, I melted some in a small pan on the lowest heat and soaked and gently fried the bread, just to give the lightest browning.

Hot tip; when the butter is cold use a vegetable peeler to slice paper thin butter slices that will almost immediately adhere to your(I'm assuming) room temperature bread.

Game changer.

@LocalStain that might even qualify as a Pro tip, coming from you

Skillet-warmed with butter is about my favourite way to prep bread. Fond memories of the (long gone) Mars Diner's banana bread muffins that they split and browned over butter on the griddle. I made some bannock the other day and gave it the same treatment

@scruss when I have time and inclination I butter bread and toast it in a frypan rather than our very nice toaster oven. The texture is so much better and the butter permeates through the whole slice that way.

Still you can't beat the convenience of a good ol' toaster (-oven).
