Video review of an old passenger train on which the youtuber turns out to be nearly the only passenger. Despite the outwardly decrepit appearance and the lack of some modern amenities the ride is nicer than he expects.
Watching this with my spouse and slowly came to realize that my dad was involved with the design and delivery to Taiwan of the railroad engine in this video (prominently shown in the thumbnail) when he worked for GE in the '70s.
And now this is some of the last footage of the E200 series in operation, the video explains they'll be retired later this year, making this a bit more bittersweet than I expected.
The youtuber (Simon Andersen) reviews passenger trains around the world and is far more entertaining at it than you would expect, even if you're not a railfan. He brings wry humor and directness (and, when appropriate, empathy -- such as when riding Albania's national rail). And of course the scenery is usually fascinating.
