Walking the Hood

One of my fav apartment buildings around these parts. A year or two ago it was really run down, windows broken, windowsills crumbling. But you could still see what she offered and thankfully so did someone else (with some money).

They renovated instead of knocking her down for modern soul sucking prefabbed boxes. She looks good again and they've finally started sorting out the garden, which is nice to see.

@wjcstp Streamline Moderne, which this basically is, definitely has nautical influences. It’s sometimes called “P&O style” in Australia, after the ship company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...

I'm curious what the glassed-in area is on the second floor. Hallway? Shared atrium/lounge area? Private super-deluxe unit?

@ardgedee from when I could see in when it was a bit rundown, I believe its the living area/room of that apartment. I could be wrong though

There was a home for sale in our town last month which had a window arrangement kind of like that, but on the main floor: https://ssl.cdn-redfin.com/photo...
