We just got back yesterday from two weeks of driving between Ohio and Los Angeles, the kid wanted to go to Disney and Super Nintendo World at Universal. Along the way we stopped at eight national parks - not long enough for an in-depth visit to most, but at least enough time for him to earn his junior ranger badge at each.
The five southern Utah parks were Thursday-Sunday, the skies were mostly clear and weather nice, but thinking back there was definitely more haze than I expected. We did notice what looked like smoke on the horizon just before we left Nevada in I-15, it looks like that was indeed the case.
(Just wanted to add that I definitely feel for everyone affected by this. Ohio winters are usually grey and dreary, summers muggy with the occasional threat of tornadoes - but I'll take that over having to deal with wildfires.)
