Looks like Lander's victory wasn't really in doubt; I'm not in New York but I look forward to seeing what he does in Congress! A real victory for "not being a dick can lead to good outcomes".

Papers of course do this all the time. I expect the Right to take it as some sign of election fixing.

I'm developing a million dollar SaaS product for the publishing industry. It's called

if ( articleContents.contains("TK") ) { allowPublish = false }

For an extra fee we also provide this product:

if ( articleContents.contains("TK") ) { allowPublish = kRequireDeputyEditorApproval; displayArticleWithTKItemHighlighted(); }

What is TK, what does all this mean? Explain it to me like I'm yer grandma.
octaneTom pro 12 hours ago
@0y3ahSansAcut3 it's editorial lingo for "To Come". Signifies that it is a placeholder, and the abbreviation is spelled wrong intentionally to make sure it's obvious and won't go to print that way.

@octaneTom ...not that it always works (HEY GUYS, WE GOTTA RUN A PLATE!)

@jpoulos It was literally Bloomberg's "innovation": Most daily news is cyclical so they have staff write boilerplates for the most likely outcome. When one of the outcomes occur they copy the boilerplate, insert relevant information, and go to press faster than any other news media. They were funded by selling subscriptions to their proprietary terminals to Wall Street companies, and made Michael Bloomberg a billionaire back when that still meant something.
