There was some CEO who was moaning about the cost of it, as I guess most of his developers are tokenmaxxing. So he wants the cost to come down, when every AI company will absolutely want and need their costs to be driven up. Think it will implode at some point.
it seems inevitable that the hardware to run these models will become cheaper and cheaper and the open source models will get good enough that they rival the frontier models, after which you're building out all these datacenters why exactly, and as a customer wouldn't you rather keep your data in-house and not share it as part of queries against somebody whose business model includes taking your information to further train their models?
