Took a closer look and yeah, the center pivot has a dampener, always a sign that the thing will want to go in directions you don't.

Recumbents can be very fast as long as you’re on pretty flat roads. Add in almost any climb and they suuuuuck. My dad had one that I borrowed a couple of times while visiting, I did 40 miles on it once which was probably his lifetime total. Climbing a hill is just a series of single leg leg presses.

Lovely design but dangerous.

@ardgedee curiously, a whole bunch of Dutch roadsters also have steering damper, and you can ride those no hands (with or without damper) forever.

But the steering geometry on that thing looks like nope
