Personification

A friend called me a Morton Salt girl recently because I was wearing bright and shiny yellow rain boots. Being from Europe I had never heard of her and was disappointed to find out she wasn’t even wearing boots. But apparently the association between rain and yellow made the boots appear in my friend’s mind.

I, too, had imagined her wearing wellies.
