We sent this as our invitation... in a tube. It's 3 feet tall. We have it in a frame in our living room and everything :). My friend, Brodsky, who is the bravest graphic artist I have yet to meet helped me crush the design. A friend of ours, Elke was a CD at an agency where she had these printed for us. We stuck them in tubes and USPSed them out for a couple of bucks each.

It was a wonderful wedding. We had $0 to spend on it. Most of the money wound up going to the New Leaf Cafe. They were in Fort Tryon Park in way north NYC. They hadn't opened yet, so we cut a deal with them using us as a practice event with a buffet with a pay-bar. We put goldfish in take home bowls on the tables instead of flowers. Heather found a gorgeous thrift store gown. We used the venues speakers with a random playlist and that was that.

A friend of ours who was a freelance philosopher and now teaches at Oxford, gave a dissertation on marriage that I cannot remember a word of because I was holding my new wife's hand and sweating in my suit jacket in the usual sweaty August of the city. Fuck it was hot. But that just led to people giving up the usual wedding stuffiness. A lot of clothes went missing almost immediately.

We gave everyone point and shoot cameras, called in a favor for some portraits and table shots. The photographer completely failed, saying "I've never been at an event where I couldn't get people to stop laughing long enough to take a group photo". He was pretty drunk when he said it.

We had a cake with Wonder Woman and The Tick on top that we brought. We had totally forgotten about it, but saw it when we started happily saying goodbye to everyone.

That's awesome. I love interesting weddings. I am pretty sure that interesting weddings require a certain amount of poverty to properly happen.
