Sourdough batard
@wombatman70 40 miles west of the bridge : Naubinway. Our friends have a beautiful little modern summer house right at the northernmost point of Lake Michigan
I'm headed to MI tomorrow for family vacation after not having been there for a few years. Super excited!!! Not getting up to the Yoop, but I'm going to be quite happy with time spent next to Sleeping Bear.
I have been feeding my sourdough starter every week or two for quite a long time as I've been too busy and it's been way too hot to bake. Looking forward to getting some loaves going in the Fall again.

@samh awesome enjoy it! Lmk if you need any recommendations… I’m in Williamsburg btw TC and Elk rapids and get over to to Sleeping Bear often…. I feel like you’ve prolly got it covered though
Our oven died a few weeks back so my starter was starving in the back of the fridge for weeks…..just woke it back up.
We got a new induction range w electric oven after being on gas all my life. This first loaf turned out awesome - the electric oven cooked a lot more evenly…and also has a proof setting which I’m digging. Another 900g of dough is in a bowl on the counter - going to make baguettes out of it in the AM

@octaneTom how WONderful! Anywhere up nort is spectacular. Especially this time of year. Spent most of my life (for better and worse) down in Holland, but still have good friends up in your neck of the woods. We never went through Naubinway, because we always took 28 heading west, since we were heading to the Keeweenaw. Hope you have the best time! How was the bread in the end?
Where in the UP? My family owned a little cottage in way up in Copper Harbor for years and years, so I’ve spent a lot of time up there.
