@m3moellering I never understood the appeal of bourbon until I was offered something other than JD. Can't remember which one. Anyway I'd since discovered that it's not actually bad, it's just so middle-of-the-road and forgettable that it's mainly aspirational to people who have been habituated on worse.
@ardgedee Bourbon is my preferred alcoholic beverage. But it has not always been so. I was a home-brew enthusiast for decades. But, to me, hop heads ruined beer for everyone. Health issues make distilled spirits preferable overall. And I've lost my fondness for Scotch and Single-malt.

@m3moellering I don't drink any more (it makes me ill). When I was, I wasn't really a bourbon fan (preferred single malt and genever gin, and preferred beer to those), but I did enjoy the occasional when an opportunity arose. My spouse on the other hand, about the only mixed drinks she likes are bourbon-based.
