Drug addiction entitles you to compassion when you are in recovery and trying to start life over. It can excuse some behaviours in an addictive state like stealing and lying to facilitate getting drugs.
It never excuses abuse or harm committed. Even if it may legally be an excuse to avoid prison or other punishment, morally you are still the person who did those harms.
One does not accidentally coerce and entrap multiple people. That isn’t a common thing that is done because drugs made you do it. It is something underlying in Reggie Watts that he did because with the drugs he felt freed from the social or moral constrictions he felt without the drugs.
