The Tower

Image shows an interpretation of the Tower card. Lightning strikes a building, but rather than the traditional castle tower, it strikes a coastal lighthouse, causing light to shoot up toward the skies.
Another card completed for my upcoming Feral Path Tarot. The Tower. I have always agreed with Alejandro Jodorowsky‘s interpretation that the Tower is not necessarily disaster or catastrophe. It can also signal a facade falling away, or the old being stripped away for something new or unexpected.
Jodorowsky, in ‘The Way of Tarot’, states that in some of the original Marseille decks, the people falling from the tower are not falling at all. They are acrobats. They are reaching down to touch plants, symbols of growth and eternity. I have omitted people and used a lighthouse because the Tower was meant to be navigational (light bringer). I did keep the green door with three steps of Marseille which represents initiation to the light.
