@jive_t I went to buy one, put one in the cart and looked at it. I put another on top of it. Then another. Then another. Then another. Then I thought "now you are just being silly". I put two back.
I put them all in and was happy with the vibrometer readings. I might take one out, because it's a bit high. We'll see what it's like when I get the top.
Many years ago I built speaker stands on my computer desk to get the speakers up to ear level. They were those cheezy little Koss speakers that were included with every PC computer purchase and ubiquitous at yard sales back in the day -- they sounded surprisingly pretty good and detailed, considering.
Anyway, the speaker stands were made out of bricks I sourced from the city's reuse store. About fifty pounds worth, which I know because they were sold by the pound, and because I bicycled home with them in a big nylon canvas courier bag and my shoulder and back hurt for fucking days after.
So, twenty five pounds of bricks per channel. I don't know if the stability and inert mass improved fidelity but having them at ear level was pretty nice.

I know, I know
It's serious
