Catherine Ringer, iconic singer of French rockers Les Rita Mitsouko, dies aged 68
I don't know how well their music crossed the ocean, but for me it was a huge part of growing up in my 20s here in Europe and I've loved them ever since. Their best work was filled with abandon, humor, poetry, sadness and hooks that stayed with you for decades. Her partner Fred Chichin died in 2007.
'Catherine Ringer has died at 68 after a battle with cancer. A defining figure in French rock and half of the iconic duo Les Rita Mitsouko alongside Fred Chichin, the singer leaves behind more than four decades of music, from Marcia Baïla to C’est comme ça, and a prolific solo career.'
