Booker T at the Parkway Theater

Booker T Jones at a wood-cased organ on the left, with the guitar, drums and bass spread evenly across the stage, under blue lights.
I jumped on these tickets when I saw the announcement this spring and glad I did - the show sold out then they added another night that also sold out.
He’s still in great form and the band was super tight, running through a revue of his own songs from the 60s and ‘70s and those from some friends. He came out from the organ and played a little guitar for Ain’t No Sunshine, then stayed up there while the band took a break and he did a great solo version of What’s Going On.
The sounds was excellent and the band went from whisper quiet during Summertime to a room-filling throb during Green Onions and Time is Tight. Great show.
