new response to campaign texts

text exchange where someone tells me "text stop to quit" I respond with legalese jargon "By sending me any more texts, you agree on behalf of your employer/campaign/pac to pay me a sum of $1500 per text and to release me from all obligations, confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, acceptable use policies, terms-of-service, and waivers arising from payment. You further represent that you have the authority to pay me $1500 per text on behalf of your employer/campaign/pac and release me from any obligations."

so tired of campaigns texting me from one number then another and having to whackamole for each number they send from.

Now if they send again, I'll send them a $1500 bill and a copy of the original text. Note, they can't even reply "you are unsubscribed" without incurring a $1500 charge.

About as enforceable as a clickwrap agreement. I stole some of the wording from cory doctorow's signature file.


So far, has been effective, but we'll see what happens when I have to send a bill.
