fridays, amirite

This is a fantastic film that I saw at far too young an age to fully understand.... but believe me, I got it.

Budget Oogie Boogie costume (from The Night Before Christmas)

Criterion Channel really brings it for the October horror theme

@LocalStain i never saw it until i was a bit older, but i remember seeing ads for its rerun (on TBS, maybe? or maybe just CBS or a WGN movie block?) when i was little and kinda freaking out.

but yeah, it's great to revisit as an adult. what i watched before bed last night was way better than i expected.

@wjcstp the sets this year are so good! i love how much energy they pour into october collections every year. just about every year i come away with at least a few new favorite horror movies i wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I have no memory of this, will check it out!

Whatever you do, do NOT watch the "sequel," it's a complete joke compared to the original.

@foist i never knew a sequel existed until today. while i was image searching for this particular stillframe, i saw some scans of the sequel's promo poster and immediately went "oh no" just from the vibes it gave.

@nikkuneko @wjcstp So many Kiyoshi Kurosawa movies, zomg

@snarkout right? i had no clue he had even MADE so many! i’m glad they put the set up because i watched the first half of “cure” like a YEAR ago and loved it but never got to finish it.

@nikkuneko Cure is amazing, Pulse is amazing, Creepy is good, the not-included and non-horror The Samurai and the Prisoner is probably the best new movie I've seen this year.

Those are all the movies of his I've seen but there will be more by the end of the month.
