My 6 Albums
alt text
I tried. This is what I have. I am not as big of a fan of music as a lot of people I guess. These are more or less chronological.
1. Culture Club - Colour by Numbers - The first album I ever bought, somewhere around 5th grade. I liked several songs on it. I remember thinking that it was a lot of money for what I got, and I was the only one who wanted to listen to it.
2. Van Halen - 1984 - The first album that I listened to repeatedly in its entirety.
3. N.W.A. - Straight outta Compton - This album was huge for me and my friends in high school. The world was changing, and this album made us question everything we had previously understood about the world.
4. AC/DC - Back in Black - This is one that my older brother played a lot while he drove us to school and for a good part of a year, the tape was rarely ejected from the radio in the truck. A lot is skipped school happened with this album as the soundtrack.
5. Metallica - Ride the Lightning - This was the first "old catalog" album I ever bought and exposed me to the idea of going back to listen to other songs from an artist that didn't get popular. I became a pretty big fan of Metallica in my time in the Navy, and I could probably just plop three other Metallica albums on here because I listened to them over and over, but that doesn't seem to fit the assignment.
6. The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free - I just really enjoyed that this album's lyrics told a story if you listened to all the songs on order and it being British rap was a combination that was just so novel for me that I still play songs from it regularly.
