The Marshall House

i have been thinking about an "alternative" for this a lot in recent years, but haven't found anything super-compelling as a great solution. so many people and artists i know are still on instagram so i'm kind of anchored there for now.

i do definitely like/prefer the vibe of flickr for posting/hosting my photos (and it's owned by a significantly less-evil group) but i haven't used it much lately.

pixelfed has been brought up as a fediverse "clone" experience, and i think i created an account on it at some point, but i never really gave it a fair shake.

I wish I had a magic browser that created a chronological feed of original social media posts from people I chose. No "shared" posts, no comments section, nothing "suggested", no unlimited scrolling, no algorithm, and no ads.

I like pixelfed, I post rare pics of my cats, plants, and sometimes bugs and other stuff: https://pixelfed.social/trav

My image sharing site of choice is MLTSHP. I'm growing more and more fed up with the enshitiffication of Instagram by the day.
